Miranda Blennerhassett, Felicity Clear Fiona McDonald, Tadhg McSweeney, Julie Merriman, Niamh O'Malley, Dorothy Smith. Line is an essential component of many works of art and has always been particularly associated with figurative drawing. Extending beyond these traditional parameters, Source explores how line is being used by a network of contemporary artists working in Ireland today. The intregral component of drawing is investigated and transformed by artists, using the diverse media and processes of drawing, painting, print, site-specific installation, sculpture and assemblage.
Trish McAdam: Animated Film 396 North Circular Road.
Falling Man expresses the symbolic rise and fall of a man, displayed in a literal sense through the movements of a man falling over and over again. The display makes use of a fractal of multiple images playing simultaneously, which are staggered to create a montage of movement. Animation S: Potent symbols and iconic imagery are used to great effect in this short animation that examines the broad impact of culture, civilization and the rise and fall of mankind throughout history.
Talk/Discussion 4.00pm - 4.45pm Sunday 338 North Circular Road (2 doors from the post office) There will be an informal talk/discussion on the two exhibitions for those interested in finding out more about the work, the artists and their processes.
